Sefa Samatua

Sefa Samatua is known for her signature "Kava Flow" style of Polynesian tribal tattooing — blending bold, medium, and fine lines that follow the body's natural muscle flow. Inspired at age four by her grandfather, Chief Samatua, and his traditional pe'a (Soga'imiti), her work honors culture through a modern-traditional approach.

Raised on the East Side of San Jose in the tight-knit Napa Drive Aiga, Sefa's foundation is rooted in family and strong Christian values. Still based in San Jose, she shares life with her wife Kirsta, their daughters Ava and Tessa, and their dogs Tyson and Pua.
